PEI Smoking Cessation Program

Presenter: Laura MacDonald, Provincial Tobacco Control Coordinator & Public Health Practitioner with the Chief Public Health Office, Department of Health and Wellness

Intended Audience: Farmer, ag workers, ag business employees, Safety professionals, educators, and students. Farming is a labor intensive, stressful career and smoking is one way many individuals cope with the daily challenges, but it does come with serious drawbacks to your health and safety.

Building a Sustainable Farmer webinar featuring Laura MacDonald from PEI’s new Smoking Cessation Program, will help inform you on the health problems caused by smoking and help you navigate the options available to farmers wanting to stop the habit. The resources available to people has progressed a long way from the “Cold Turkey” days of our grandparents, so join us in learning more so you can become a successful non-smoker.

Learning objectives

  1. Participants will understand the hazards associated with smoking.
  2. Participants will learn how to approach stopping the habit.
  3. Participants will learn what resources are available to assist you in your stop smoking goals.
