Woody Biomass Research Project

During the period of April 2011 to March 2014, the PEI Federation of Agriculture co-sponsored a research project with the Canadian BioEnergy Centre at the University of New Brunswick.

The purpose of the study was to explore regional differences in the growth and yield of 3 Salix clones and 3 Miscanthus cultivars, with a view to further understand the impact of these plants on the land where they are grown, and as alternative crops for use in the production of alternative energy.
