Farm & Food Care PEI – Student Program Technician
Wage: $15.00/hr
Start Date: approximately May 15, 2023
End Date: approximately September 1, 2023

Location: This position is based out of the PEI Federation of Agriculture office at 159 Sherwood Road, Charlottetown PEI.
Are you a student who is passionate about agriculture on PEI and sharing the story of where our food comes from? Farm & Food Care Prince Edward Island is hiring a Student Program Technician for Summer 2023!
Farm & Food Care PEI is a program offered through the PEI Federation of Agriculture that is committed to informing Islanders about safe and sustainable food production in the province, and supporting the Island food community through story-telling and community activities.
As the Student Program Technician you will work alongside the Program Coordinator to plan public events and engage with members of the community; assist in handling communications and social media campaigns; manage program data and perform office duties as required; and assist in telling the stories of local farms and farm families. You will also be involved in campaigns run by Farm & Food Care PEI including the PEI Farm Tour, Faces of PEI Food and other initiatives and events related to local food access, highlighting sustainability and introducing Islanders to the many people who produce our food.
Education & Experience
- A student currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program who will be returning to school in the Fall of 2023.
- Preferably a student in an agriculture or business program.
- Previous experience in the agriculture industry is an asset, but not required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workplace and various social media platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently as required.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to interact with members of the public as a representative of the PEI Federation of Agriculture.
- Strong organizational skills.
