What is the Farmer Counselling Program?
The Farmer Counselling Program is a service that provides confidential, professional counselling services to members of PEI’s agriculture industry. The program recognizes that some problems can affect home life and work performance. When this happens, help may be required in resolving these problems through the assistance of a trained professional counsellor. Our counselors are trained to provide short term counselling or refer you to other professional services and resources in the community.

A farmer is an individual, partnership, cooperative or other association of persons engaged in the production of crops, livestock or other eligible commodities intended for commercial sale.
Confidentiality is key to any counselling service. Counselling sessions will be held in private offices, NOT connected with either the Federation of Agriculture (PEIFA) or the Department of Agriculture. No one within the PEIFA will know who uses this service.
The cost for this service will be free of charge to PEI Federation members and NFU Members (including their families and farm employees).
