Sandy Rae Farm is a 6th generation farm in Montague, Prince Edward Island. The farm is run by Dannie MacKinnon and his wife, Christine, with help from their two children, Alex and Christine Sarah. Dannie inherited the farm from his father who grew seed potatoes and raised chickens, pigs and a few beef cattle.  When Dannie’s father passed away in 1968, the family got out of potatoes and by 1972 their main focus had turned to dairy. The MacKinnons currently milk 70 registered black and white Holsteins, and they also grow all of their forages on the farm. They have been members of Holstein Canada since 1965. Sandy Rae Farm is also a 4-H family farm; they participate in 4-H events and are members and leaders for the 4-H community.
