Oyster Cove Farms Ltd. is a 5th generation farm owned and operated by John Ramsay and his three sons, Ben, Michael and Matthew. John and his brother Robert took over the farm from their father, David in 1973. The farm has been Oyster Cove Farms since 1994. The farm is nestled in Kensington and grows 500 acres of processing potatoes, 400 acres of grain, and has expanded to grow organic oats and hemp. Hemp seeds are known to be nutritious and rich in healthy fats, protein and various minerals. John currently holds a seat on the Potato Processing Committee through the PEI Potato Board. Matthew is active with the Kensington North Watershed Association, sits on the board for the PEI Soil and Crop Improvement Association and is a director with the PEI Organic Producers Cooperative.
