CFA would like to pass on information regarding an upcoming webinar on the agricultural streams of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program to its members. Any interested members or individual producers are invited to a webinar session with officials from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to learn more about the Temporary Foreign Worker and Agriculture programs within an operational context.
Through this webinar, ESDC and IRCC will provide a comprehensive overview of the end to end application process of the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program and the Agricultural Stream of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.

For Randy Hardy of Hardy Farms in Oakley, Idaho, the potato harvest is coming to an end. He started harvesting toward the end of September, and he hopes to be finished today, given the rain doesn’t slow his crews down. On Thursday, he had about 50 acres of potatoes left to harvest. MORE

Chainsaw Maintenance and Safety course
The PEI Woodlot Owners Association – in co-operation with the Department of Forestry is holding a Weekend Woodsman Chainsaw Maintenance and Safety course at the Beach Grove Forestry complex on Wed, Oct 19th at 6:00 pm.
There will be a Cutting and Felling workshop on Saturday, October 22nd — weather permitting.
