4-H PEI holding Rural Youth Fair Saturday
4-H PEI is in inviting families from across the Island to join in the fun of its 66th Rural Youth Fair on Saturday, September 10 at the Prince County Exhibition Grounds in Alberton. AAFC Potato Variety Evaluation Field Tour
The 2016 potato variety evaluation field tour will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 1 pm at the Harrington Research Farm located at 1200 Brackley Point Road (7 km north of the Charlottetown Airport). This year new varieties, advanced selections and Accelerated Release (AR) lines from three trials will be on display.
Trial 1: Advanced selections of fresh market and processing lines from AAFC under conventional production.
Trial 2: The Canadian Horticultural Council Research Cluster PEI Potato Variety Trial including new varieties, AR lines, high starch varieties and 6 lines at 75 lbs N/acre.
Trail 3: Advanced selections from AAFC under organic production.
