Are you registering a Commercial Vehicle?
Commercial vehicles include farm related equipment such as a tractor, loader, dump truck, horse trailer, backhoe, livestock trailer, or a vehicle, such as a pickup truck, over 4,500 KG. Access PEI and the division of Highway Safety, of the Department of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy, have streamlined the Commercial Vehicle Registration Program to ensure that only safe and properly registered vehicles travel our Island roadways. Federation of Agriculture offering Forklift Training through the FCC AgSafety Fund
The PEIFA has received funding for forklift safety training through the Farm Credit Canada AgSafety Fund administered through the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association. This training is open to farm employees needing recertification as well as those who may be entering into employment in the agriculture sector.
Courses will be held across the Island and can he hosted at the farm. This training is being offered at a discounted rate of $20 per person. Space is limited.

Western Canadian feeder cattle markets experienced a diverse tone across the Prairies, with notable buying interest surfacing on yearlings. Compared to seven days earlier, prices for yearlings in southern Alberta were $5-$7 higher on average, as feedlots focused on purchasing local cattle. MORE

ESDC/IRCC Webinar on TFWP Operations for Agriculture
CFA would like to pass on information regarding an upcoming webinar on the agricultural streams of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program to its members. Any interested members or individual producers are invited to a webinar session with officials from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to learn more about the Temporary Foreign Worker and Agriculture programs within an operational context.
Through this webinar, ESDC and IRCC will provide a comprehensive overview of the end to end application process of the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program and the Agricultural Stream of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
